Connecting here is safe, and here is the specific reason. This page only ever mints your yacht to you. It never asks for a token approval, so it cannot move, sell or touch anything else in your wallet. Claiming must come from the wallet that burned, because the chain binds it there: it cannot be delegated, and nobody can claim your yachts for you.
Nothing waiting, and you expected some? A yacht is claimable by the wallet that burned its Normie, so check you are connected with that one. If you have never burned a Normie, there is nothing here for you to take: burn one and its yacht appears, or buy a yacht somebody already claimed. Either makes you a full member. What the club is.
There is no deadline. Claims stay open for ever, and stay open as long as Normies keep being burned. Nothing here expires, and a yacht you claim is never locked: sell or trade it whenever you like, like any other NFT.
Claiming a big fleet? "Claim all" splits your yachts into several transactions and tells you how many. Just approve each one in your wallet. Yachts you've already claimed are skipped automatically, and if a batch stops you can reload and continue with the rest. Nothing is ever lost.
About gas, because wallets explain it badly. Claiming is free. You pay the network, never us. But your wallet does not just need the fee it shows you: it sets aside the worst-case fee before sending, which can be many times larger, and refunds the difference the moment the block is mined. That is why a wallet can say "insufficient funds" next to an estimate of a few cents. We size each batch to what your wallet can actually set aside, so this should never stop you, and if it ever does, claim fewer at a time using the button on each row.
